Chief Executive Officer
Michael has been a leading voice in the life settlement market for more than 15 years, serving as a senior executive for two life settlement companies before co-founding LightHouse Life in 2018. For over a decade Michael led the life settlement market’s legal and regulatory development as head of public policy and government affairs at Coventry, where he was the driving force behind the passage of more than 60 state and federal life settlement laws and rules that promote and protect life settlements for seniors and investors. During Michael’s subsequent tenure as President of GWG Holdings, Inc. he led the company to records in originating and purchasing life insurance assets. Michael is a past officer of the Life Insurance Settlement Association and the Life Settlement Institute. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Alliance for Senior Health Care Financing, a Washington, DC-based advocacy organization. He holds a B.A. from the University at Albany and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University at Buffalo School of Law.
Chief Distribution and Business Development Officer
Michael leads the company’s distribution and strategic alliances within the financial services industry to increase awareness and access to life settlements for life insurance policyowners. A financial services professional for more than 30 years, Michael has been building, leading, and managing wholesale distribution platforms in financial services, including 13 years as Senior Vice President, National Distribution, at Coventry, and CEO of Coventry Securities, LLC. Previously, Michael served as Regional Director for Jackson National Life’s Mid-Atlantic Region and, prior to that, as a life and annuity wholesaler for Manulife Financial. Michael is a respected national educator and speaker on financial services topics and is a member of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council and Society of Financial Service Professionals. Michael holds a B.A. from Dickinson College and FINRA Series licenses 7,24, and 63.
Chief Investment and Financial Officer
Jim oversees the company’s policy analysis, pricing and purchasing of life policies, as well as the overall financial affairs of the company. For more than 18 years, Jim has been engaged in all business facets of life settlement companies, including more than 14 years at Coventry. During his time there he developed the company’s business plan and operationalized its business strategy, acquiring an industry leading volume of life insurance assets through the secondary market. Jim built and led the company’s financial analysis, policy valuation, financial underwriting, asset buying, trading and portfolio management platforms. Jim has significant experience in Life Settlement asset management, negotiating complex financial transactions and managing relationships with investors. Jim holds a B.S. in Finance from Penn State University and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
Chief Operating Officer
Andrew is responsible for developing and managing the company’s life settlement platforms for consumers and financial professionals, as well as the company’s overall business operations. Andrew has worked as a senior executive in the life settlement market for more than 20 years, including serving as the Chief Information Officer at Coventry, where he designed and implemented the first integrated life settlement pricing and tracking system, along with other mission-critical systems. Andrew has extensive experience in all aspects of operations, infrastructure, technology and facilities management, including global operations. Andrew is a cybersecurity and disaster recovery expert and is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, where he holds a certification in Cybersecurity Management. He holds a B.S. from Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management.
